Exercise, somehow, helps battle depression. While experts don't fully understand how exercise benefits mental health, they do have evidence that it does, and is therefore a worthwhile suggestion to help battle depression, according to Harvard mental health experts. The experts point to one study showing that depressed adults who took part in a three-month rigorous exercise program saw a decline of depressive symptoms as great as would have been expected if they had been taking antidepressants.
